the story of a roaming haunting ghost...

The Tomb of Traveling Tom

Jaimey Perham © 05/27/2010

Traveling Tom doesn’t sleep at night

He roams the cemetery with all his might

He goes where angels fall from flight

He haunts their grave sites and digs their plights

Traveling Tom was shot in the back

By his x wife who made an attack

Because he cheated and went off track

Traveling Tom had an addiction to sex and smack

Traveling Tom feels no pain

He only has himself to blame

He can’t find the tunnel of bright light only sorrow and rain

He enjoys spooking stranded strangers on the subway trains

Traveling Tom once had a good bank job

But made a dreadful mistake when he decided to rob

His asshole of a boss nicknamed greedy big bob

But before he got the loot was fired for performing like a slob

Traveling Tom got in a fight over a bet

He received broken bones and cuts of blood because of his debt

He even had to get his right shoulder adjusted and reset

You could blame it on the Southern whisky that makes the brain real wet

Traveling Tom died one autumn fall full moon

He died in his sleep of old age alone and in ruin

No one went to his funeral except the local priest at the strike of noon

His grave stone etching reads his full name, year of birth and death on his stone tomb

So if you happen to pass by alone with your senses in tune

And you happen to feel a sudden sense of doom

Just know Traveling Tom may be haunting and creeping up on you too real soon.
