People are not who they once were.
They’re not who they have the potential to be.
We can’t mold them into someone we want.
God intended for all humans to be free.

Instead, they are who they are
whether we choose to recognize it or not.
DNA doesn’t make one a father.
Dad is the man who sticks it out and raises his child.

True friends are concerned about you now.
You don't have to remind them to look out for your interests.
They just act and work in your behalf.
Real friends will be your enemy when you are wrong!

I’ve learned these truths for real.
In times past, I would shun the people God sent to me,
focusing on people who rejected my friendship.
It's amazing how maturity can open one's eyes.

I hope you recognize who you are
and embrace the people God has sent to you.
If you’re lonely, then maybe you need to change.
No human is too good for making adjustments.

True, we all change with time,
but certain things about us should always stay the same.
You and I are never above people,
no matter what places we travel to 
or what organization we choose to become a part of.
