This poem was written right from the heart and is very precious to me.
I have started a new chapter of my life and basically all the poems written from February to now and through out this year is focused on that. It took a lot to share this poem.
Written March 3, 2003

You wash off the crime
of keeping secrets
like thinking on another
while making love to me,
the things you wished
I wouldn't do,
what you really want to say
in your killing silence.

tell me, what have you done?

Your sighs speaks softly
hard truths
that hold you close and calmly.

When can I?

I pretend not to notice
your heart burns
rose bites
wet licks and
strong soup spills;
position

You wash them all off every day
old private lies,
private pique
wrongful wish
for our good thing,
plaques and sour puss.

Once in the morning
and once at night, you wash them off
the best you can
climb into an old bed
with old sleeps, rocking,
smelling salts
and hang your
head with sheets
with holes
from my tarnished clothes pins,
smiling cool and fresh
slicking sorries,
clean,
never been so clean
but when I touch you,
I feel your dirt.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
