LISTENING TO YOU SLEEP

Have you ever laid awake at night and listened to your sweetheart sleep? The feeling of love that sweeps over me at those times is almost overwhelming.

LISTENING TO YOU SLEEP

 

My life has had some sad days.
I've had nights filled with gloom.
I never dreamed I'd meet someone,
or that love again might bloom.

 

We've been sharing happiness
for a little over two years.
We've shared all our hurts.
We understand each other's tears.

 

There are nights when I awaken
with darkness all around,
then listen to you sleep,
your breathing the only sound.

 

You sleep so calm and quiet,
breathing steady and deep.
It seems contentment overtakes you
once you've fallen off to sleep.

 

I smile as I listen,
knowing you’re a blessing from above.
My fears quickly disappear
as my heart fills with love.

Wow such a beautiful poem, Been listening to the song by ronan keating "if tommorow never comes" with the lines that he watches her sleeping so moving, my boyfriend said he could watch me sleeping for hours, it really touched me but was kind of odd to think of someone watching you when you are not aware. God bless. Baz

Thank you sweet lady. There are many things about you and sleeping with you that I enjoy, but "LISTENING TO YOU SLEEP" isn't one of them. Unfortunately, I think you sleep a little louder than I do, but I love you all the same.... Dick
