The one that’s there behind the scenes in every little church
Is one who has a golden heart, no money could buy it’s worth
You’re always there to lend a hand, a smile and say a prayer
There are no lengths you wouldn’t go, for those to which you care
The gentle hand you offer all in their times of need
Nothing can stop the power of prayer or all of your kind deeds
Most all of us neglect to thank the one who is always there
It’s of yourself you always give, it is your time you share
Your soft warm voice can be heard by even the hardest heart
The compassion you have for everyone sets you far apart
You give to all and ask for less; forever part of our lives
