She will win back my love someday

Poem Artwork

Alas! My heart is heartless;
I feel not the emotions of love
nor do the stars of her thoughts
glitter the sky of my murky heart.

My heart, like the dark could, spreads
its wings, and hinders the sunlight
from reaching her eyes, but yet
she waits for me with stars in her eyes.

I have given her nothing, yet she
believes that she is getting more
and rests her prodigious hope,
upon the lap of my dissolute core.

In her soul flows the pristine brook
of conviction, for she knows, she will
win back my love someday. With this
luminous dream she passes her days.

Bhuwan, looking at the beautiful Lady in the picture, I can see that your have your eyes pointed in the right direction. Young man it is time to take action and point your heart in the same direction. Clearly "crimson and gold" must mix to form ecstasy. Your friend Bill

~*~ Beautiful write Bhuwan! Far from 'heartless' is thy heart my friend! The gifts you give are lofty from your Spirit core... not material trifles. This she knows.... ~*~

The last verse could be so sad,she living in the dream,he pitying her, knowing it to be different..and yet it could also be he knows that she is right,it is he who must find the love he has lost.Yes it could be said to love unrequited, yet she has touched him,is that then not love ?A wonderfully crafted write Bhuwan.

Bhuwan, this is entrancing and sentimental in an odd, dry way -- in the way of an off-handed romanticism, afraid to become sentimental, afraid to feel vulnerable. You play the part of a closet romantic with a wounded ego... an intelligent write!

"I have given her nothing, yet she
believes that she is getting more
and rests her prodigious hope,
upon the lap of my dissolute core."

A very telling, intriguing poem, sad and melancholy yet secretly hopeful -- a complex write!
