no fewer than a thousand lifetimes
have been lived in the sun.
but you are not there.
i have searched, blinded by the brilliance
and found nothing but cold light.
where have you disappeared to?
the light grows stronger,
pulling everything out of the shadows
and into the centre of radiance.
but this is not the light of love.
it is an illusion which hides all pain
except the pain of emptiness.
the great hypocritical sun,
to warm the heart that cannot love,
the warm the hand that cannot feel.
