Sonnet V: Dissonance

An original poem.

-------------

the strings of a lyre in a museum

caused me to think. there are far fewer truths

than once before. in this masoleum

the sound vibrates and the forgotten ruth-

less religion resonates with laughter.

no symphonies, only simple chords struck

with meaning to be found only after

the lyric is read. but with any luck

this silent message will find a place where

any person can see it. a secret

bond between the gods and men is present

in the strings, four ways to displace regret

and the elements in turn represent

harmony. behind glass the strings are bare.

This stuck me deeply as I am going through some changes right now where I am wondering about the need for art or writing.....behind the glass what good is it if it cannot get to the people who need it?

Behind glass the strings have no creativity. Out in the open the freedom leaps with creativity and blossoms.

your poems reach inside of me father.

Thank you for your wonderful reviews and time for me.

love,
Susan
