For all those who are feeling the cold winds of indifference, ignorance, loneliness, abuse, intolerance... I know I do, so this one is for YOU!!

Compassion Is...


 


A plentiful gift
healer of a widening rift
why must we callously choose
to harden hearts, thus friendships lose


It costs us nothing
extending a little loving
sympathy is but a waife eaten
while empathy lingers, it's place unbeaten


In this life
comes trouble and strife
mercy given brings good cheer
whilst indifference renders forth a tear


We all need
humans all bleed
no matter what your trouble
ignorance pays us out in double


Time ticks on
too soon is gone
waste it in selfish pursuits
look not someday, for riper fruits!


Change it now
to a resolutions vow
compassion is our greatest treasure
entrusted us, at HIS Majesty's Pleasure

Ah, yes, Ch'erie, a well written piece for sure. If only we humans would realize that life is about love and forgiveness, what a happier life we would have and what a wonderful world this would be!

Very empathetic poem Ch'erie, and it is so true indifference is far worse than most people who use it understand. That is, until it happens to them.Beautifully written!
