Well contrary to popular opinion here, I think you are right there are simply times and situations when no one cares. It is hard for a lot of people to believe this as you write there are always two faces, for everyone. No one is the same in public as they are in private, the diffrences might be subtle but they are there. People in general feign compassion and a caring gesture but when it comes down to the meat of it they are unlikely to cross the street to save another person, most likely they are to do this in the event of fire, car wreck, or imagined political abuses than they are for someone with mental illness or depression. those are taboo even today in our enlightened age of social awareness. Nancy I think you hit it right between the eyes.
