Goin' to the Doge's Palace,
the Westie sniffs the air like royalty
He's going with the Balmoral corgis
and his big pal the Italian Mastiff.
Along the Dorsoduro, Guggenheim that way,
he'll be wearing the red mask, for sure,
Valentine Westie's got his eye on a lady.
Oh but with the brilliant imagination evidenced in VENETIAN DOGCART the narrator of this poem had a great deal more than small change. A fantastic write.
Ah, but at least it took you there, Ken, and the small change a small price to pay for filling your dreamboat with such goodies... don't forget the Viennetta icecream and the amaretti biscuits! Have a bottle of Chianti on me and toast my good health... and I'd better get a postcard from your place of midnight sun, too. Bon voyage again, and no cocking your leg, even if you DO rekindle that sense of belonging when back in the wilds woods around Trondheim! Anyway, belonging or supremacy is my question?!... Nice revision, Ken, and I'm glad that your sense of patriotism is still intact! :)) LOL Kate xx
