Hat, scarf, gloves,
he likes his winter clothes,
big heavy coat.
There he stands in the garden
burly, round and cold
not stopping for long; maybe
tomorrow he'll be gone, nothing
left but his button eyes
and carrot nose, that's how it goes
for the snowman, it's a short life.
