Warming Up The Homeless


Warming up the homeless,
A smile for that tired old body
that feels the cold just like you!   

This way to the soup kitchen, sir
Hot soup and an Irish stew 
I'll warm the tea pot, a good brew, buddy

Winter nights for rough sleepers
Warming up the cardboard, trapping the air
Smoothing out the wrinkles

Back at night to my own wee house
Everyone should have an out-reach worker
if only to reach over and turn off the light.
