Lying on the ground for weeks
slowly turning brown, slowly decaying,
Willie and his friends on a downward spiral,
the old tree grown mossy and gnarled,
the daily windfall battle for survival.
Soon he'll drop and feed the birds
and the squirrels, all part of Life's
great cycle continuous and inevitable,
but, one day, a new golden tree and bough
for the seed of Mister Willie Apple.
Please let the remains of Mr. Apple know that his seed is getting spread by birds and squirrels.........he, as we, are all part of this planet. That should cheer him up!
