Border Terrier

Running free by the river Tweed,
keeping guard on his red Divan
thinking of his many battles
duffing up Scottish Terriers
in North Berwick.

Running around Lothian
in fields, silent as a collie,
a sheep worrier,
and then an honourable sleep,
for our Border terrier, Eric!
