Classic children's literature with its colourful illustrations has always had a fascination for me. I remember pouring over all the picture books in a Chinese kindergarten where I worked for a short time and just loving the wonderful artwork and the fantastic light in that airy white reading room.
How many people see the world with the wonder of a child?
The grim realities of life steal our joy and our eyes dim with tears or exhaustion.
We should strive to keep the spirit of youth in our words and our actions.
I must admit being a university teacher makes you aware of age creeping up on one, but, 'stay with the young and stay a laid-back cheerful English teacher!' I'll learn from my students to share happy moments and be mother nature's son.
