Settle Poem

When you're on a lonely platform, the station master
suddenly signals the arrival of the Music and Ale
train to Ribblehead in the Pennines.
Soon you forget you've ever hit the buffers, your poem
moving you along on beautiful lines in quatrains.
Drinking Copperhead Dragon, having a real good time,
laughing with the other passengers and talking steam trains,
are you stopping in Settle, walking the Yorkshire Dales?
Poems arrive when you seem to have gone off the rails.
