Vincent's old boots, a tale of drudgery
of a miner almost crushed to death,
a crown of thorns, a scarred old face.
For forty days, young pastor Vincent
nursed him back to health,
then took those old boots with him
to the south,
down lonely roads in his painterly life
No success or acclaim
or plump young wife,
leather soles caked with mud,
you didn't sell a single painting!
But hey, you're on the cover of Sergeant
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
and your Starry Night and Sunflowers
never seem to fade with time or age.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
