There's a rose on our campus
and it has a fragrance romantic and sweet.
The Chemistry majors could use it in a perfume
and say it's really from Grasse,
the English majors could write undergraduate love poems
like budding Shakespeare's.
Ah! But the Philosophy student; 'Story of a moment!'
she says disdainfully, walking away in her Adidas
campus rose femme bebe trainers.
THE RED ROSE....HAS BEEN DOING ECXACTLY WHAT IT WAS CREATED TO DO... INSPIRING HUMANITY FOR AGES. THE CHEMIST...THE ENGLISH MAJOR AND WRITERS...THE PHILOSOPHERS...THE ROMANTICS, ETC....ALL, AT ONE TIME ANOTHER HAVE FOUND THEMSELVES CAUGHT UP IN THE BEAUTY OF...THE RED ROSE. MY ADMINIRATION, THOUGH...SPILLS OVER UNTO THE 'ONE' WHO CREATED IT! AMEN. THANKS FOR SHARING, KENNY. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
Once again, this is witty, clever, and fun to read... and the "romantic theme" always awakens my imagination and senses. Love, peace, and best wishes to you, Kenny,
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
Regis. 🙏🌸🍂
