A rosy glow around the ones we know
as Oscar's friends, everything is ready,
all set for the poet's entrance, Perrier-Jouet
1889, well, that's just my poetic license.

This beautiful evening feels like a séance
We could channel the big Irishman himself
But we're not here for crossing dimensions
Just having a real good time in France.

You're here with him, this handsome man
Enchante, chérie, ma chère Madame!
And when the dancers kick up their heels
It's Jane Avrill, all the thrills of the can can.

A little man with a sketchbook in hand
comes to your table to capture the joy
Why, it's only Toulouse Lautrec,the Folles
Bergères artist, tonight, you're a happy medium!
