For Joyce, Beckett, Wilde and Yeats
Four Dubliners who had to leave
The four green fields.
Joyce taught English in Trieste
Beckett went to France to wait for Godot
Yeats still loved Sligo and the fairies
Oscar Wilde tried to join London high society.

Working quietly in his Monaghan fields

I thank the good lord of literature
For Bram Stoker's Dracula
For Flann O'Brien's At-Swim-Two-Birds

Dreaming like Tarry Flynn in his own wee room
And being the Green Fool for Ireland.
The Irish have certainly contributed a great deal to literature. Although I didn't find Joyce's stream of consciousness worth reading. And sometimes, I wish that Bram Stoker had never invented the vampire legend and empire. Once in a while there is an interesting story, but most of them reek of imitation and lack of originality.
