Why dance in winter brother left and right
Why let a snowflake rest on your nose or eye-lid?
Because it's a delight
to be kissed in the snow at night
by snow bees
as Andersen called the snowflakes
in the Snow Queen.
Why make a snow angel in the field,
why brother left and right,
swim in the frozen
Songhua river
Or sculpt a little bird from ice?
Because it makes us stronger
and art can be a spring breeze.
When rust was all we had to show
Now, children can skate and ski,
brother left and right,
from Qiqihar to Jilin,
Dongbei! Ice and Snow World.
Harbin! Good spot for ice-hockey players,
Harbin! Warm hearts in the coldest places.
