Friendship is like a gold ring,
Much like the argyle socks upon our feet.
The warm memories held within
Are treasured in the casket of our minds.
Like the murals of Dunhuang,
Friendship never fades.
It is never truly lost or stolen, unless
Snatched away quietly by the hand of time—
Only to be forgotten, or—as we raise a glass
Of fine white wine together—
Amidst a friendly embrace or a kiss,
To find its way back to us once more.
Such is the way of friendship,
Like that gold ring.

For friendship is a golden ring

Never had a friendship ring, or even a wedding ring, even though I was married. But I appreciate the find this for the lost article, found again.
