I've spent the week on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. My "Jesus and the Duck" photo series demands that I carry Jesus and the duck in my pocket at all times.

Jesus and the Duck at OBX Waves crashing on the beach Frothing waters washing Crucifixion sadness foaming Drowning my sins in the sea Holy Jesus looking stern Can’t feel the nails in his hands Failing to fall into the sea The duck can’t save him Rolling waters washing wishes Far away to the deep Swimmingly Jesus holds on Smiling to the dead duck © 2010 Dayvid Graybill

Okay, I admit it, I have no idea what OBX means...other than it involves Jesus, you and a duck, a dead duck none the less. Enlighten me oh spiritual guru.

Froth of a new generation of Pastors to deliver souls to the mighty ocean to be born again...you bein' one of them Dayvid...the duck has such a metaphorical value in Religion that has been stained with black and died like the duck stained with oil and perished...with tides of salvation, shells of re-entry, and a cross to mark your whereabouts in both geographical location and where you're at in spiritual locality.
