You are also caught with the fact that man is a creature who walks in two worlds and traces upon the walls of his cave the wonders and the nightmare experiences of his spiritual pilgrimage.”Morris West

DREAMS I TURNED AWAY

I've no responsibilites. whatsoever for my dreams
With all their nooks and crannies, hued by sight unseen
With dialogues and epilogues, and chapters inbetween
That catalogue archival thoughts, by legion and by theme

I go as weak willed prisioner, upon the journey's night
Stopping in the port of thought, or traveling the like
I go where deams may take me, I live until I wake
In the place of never was.....escaping on the shake

Veiled and costumed head to toe, to think as someone new
For there in dreamscapes, I embrace...confusion as a view
To borrow thru the midnight, and pocket by the day
To pardon in the twlight....the dreams I turned away

Makes me think what dreams are about....hmmm! (very thought provoking)
Thanks for the piece. The more I read it the more I like...good work!
(I often quibble about rhyming poetry because I have a difficult time creating them.)

Sometimes I wonder about the difference between the dream and the "reality." Thank you for inciting thought, Anita. Love and peace to you,

The crux of our existence lies somewhere in between the duality of consciousness and our dreams. Some of them we must turn away for various reasons -some may even come true. This is a well written and thought provoking piece Anita! -excellent rhyme and perfect meter.

There is such a very wonderful message in this, I just love it. Lots of food for thought and reflect upon man is a creature who walks in two worlds which I believe is true!
Very well done:)

This is wonderful, Anita! Smooth and flowing, full of rich imagery, so like a dream in it's very existence. Again, a wonderful write.

Yeah, Conscious or subconsious, it kinda means there are two of us, in the way we relate to the sub as if it is another entity..(Andy's brain explodes)

Our best may only have been or still is a dream away.
I've tumbled through a thousand dreams, wondering at times how I reached the other end in one piece. Yes, and how many dreams have we turned away and even slammed the door on. We end up apologising to ourselves, don't we? Many of those rejected dreams become mysteries, leaving us wondering what could have been. Hmm, such are the traces of these scattered, unlived, decaying possibilities. Smells doesn't it?

Come on, let's open up to the dreams that come knocking, invite them in, in particular the ones labelled hope and ambition-grab them by the scruff of the neck, look them in the eye, smile defiantly, then take up their gauntlet. We've got nothing to loose, everything to gain.

This is the second poem I've read this morning that has set me off on an unexpected train of thought - and I've not even had my porrige yet!

Cheerie!

Very well said my friend, there is only so much credit for what occurs in our minds on the dream level, what we honestly want or feel often does show up in our subconscious as it tries to escape into reality.

outstanding write my friend!!! For God is our strength and the light of the world...I agree with Richard I go where my muse leads me, if I do not feel the leading or the calling I often remain silent and wait...patience is a great virtue! Dream on my friend, and write on my friend!

Blessings,

Excellent Anita!

A timely and palatable message! Diversity, and faith in God, is our strength in this country. Too many artists have bought into the fast food syndrome.

I too go where the muse takes me
and I color the way I'm told,
and for all those who think I'm too complicated,
go dig yourself a hole ...
And then fall in it!

APAX,

Life could be boring if it weren't for our second world. May I blame my misfortunes of my first onto my second and bear no conscience for either? Very well written my friend.
