It is more easy to be wise for others than for ourselves. ~François Duc de La Rochefoucauld

Poem Artwork

dialogue of peace

its been a long time since I talked to me
cuz I mostly ignore what I say
I rather drift than think
it's sooo much better that way

i know everything I'd probably say
never bother with my own advice
i know me better than anyone
it's like I knew me twice

i've seen my face in the mirror
i know whats under that skin
curiosity never killed this cat
nine lives through thick and thin

its been a long time since i talked to me
and the quiet's been such a release
sometimes it's better not to think
it's the dialogue of peace

Peace engaged with peace - what a blissful thought. One could hear the snow falling in such a contented state of being.
'I know me better than anyone'? Chance would be a fine thing in my case - my alter ego can be so cunningly deceitful, who can know it? Beats me:)

Thought provoking work, hen. Nay nay lass - soul searching work.

Gotta love it. This makes me wonder the more if, when people say, "You're not yourself...." well if we miss ourselves then too!

Love this.
Blessings of peace!

I love this one Anita, it rings so true for all of us. There is in all of a us a private side that few people ever get a glimpse of and perhaps that is just as well...

Another great poem falls seemingly effortlessly from your pen, dear-- and with cadence to boot. I love what you write. And such good advice. I wish I'd just shut up already with the talking to myself. I'll have to keep this handy to tell myself about it-- Later! --Charlie

Awwww what a beautiful swan! Sometimes it is easier to offer advice to others, than to follow it ourselves, well pointed out...

This is a beautiful write. I do not give myself much advice because I know what mule headed thing I can be. Why waste my breath?
