Rose Within the Snow

A poem about the friendships that form from the most unforseen experiences.

Poem Artwork

Of all the things we treasure
In this life, so short and sweet
Nothing gives us greater pleasure
Than the precious souls we meet –
When lives are interconnected
And a bond begins to grow
In a friendship, as unexpected
As a rose within the snow.

Often as light as a feather
Or as cherished as a gem
The time we spend together
Lights the world when days are dim
Shining rays of hope enduring
In our lives, despite the chill –
Like a rosebud, still maturing
With so much left to fulfill.

Of all the things we treasure
In this life, strong and sincere
Nothing gives us greater pleasure
Than the souls whom we hold dear
When lives are interconnected
And the beams of friendship flow
From a moment as unexpected
As a rose within the snow.

Unexpected friendships are the most sought after. It's the 'different' that we as humans long for.
I love this Jill...your expertise in writing is well above the average.
