Teachers sigh

Jumbled Costumes

Tiaras and capes

Missing shoes

How will we cope

Dress rehearsal

Minds are blank

Words momentarily gone

Rushing actions Out of time

With music and others

Nervous laughter

Children missing

What will we do

If there is none

To take the role

Each part important

To the stories flow

A parents thought

Silent forlorn

What were we thinking

Why did we join

Child and teacher wonder

Am I ready

Are They

It’s almost time

The practicing done

The performance prepared

This insanity

This childhood joy

Thankfully

In that moment

Where chaos reigned

A calm descends

On all

They are ready

The stage is lit

The hall is dark

Music plays

The audience grows quiet

The cue given

It has begun

The ebb and flow

Of lines well learnt

And parts well played

Imagination Magic

Success and joy

Children being children

Making adults proud

We knew they would

Applause and adulation

Faces beaming

Clasping Awards

Hugging friends

Its over for another year

Tired Weary

Parent and child

Stagger home

Content Enthused

Teachers grateful

lt went as planned

And for each

Stress and tears forgotten

Resolve completely gone

In the flush of success

The thought arises

What will we do

Next year!
