Espionage was invented by a woman,
In a cave, very long ago.
It was probably an outgrowth of boredom,
Or merely something to augment the show.

Do you think that all of the cave-women,
Stayed in the cave all day?
Tending to the clan's major business,
Home schooling the cave kids, in her own cave-woman ways?

Perhaps she sought ways to exert her influence,
On the flathead males of the tribe,
Secretly jockeying for a little more power,
With cave-promises, lies, or bribes.

Yes, these cave-wives were desperate,
Just as are the wives of today,
And the cave-men, most assuredly were losers,
With few of their talents on display.

The cave-men turned out to be boring.
Cave-women evolved with more speed,
And the remarkable battles of the Paleolithic era,
Were fought by cave-women in need.

They plotted and they planned,
Always trying to get the best man,
And not caring who they walked on to have him.
Yes, the very concept of modern manipulation,
Began in a cave with a woman.

This isn't an indictment of cave-women,
For their actions led to higher thinking.
It is more an examination of cave-men,
For the actions of cave-women,
Led cave-men to heavy drinking.
