Poem Artwork

Lazy with the crazy days a coming,
Praying for Sunday afternoon.
I'm exhausted from my life,
It's so sad,
And the weekend just can't get here too soon.

It seems to me,
But you might disagree,
But it feels like everybody wants,
A little piece of me.

Let's be friends,
He's a writer, you know.
Let's get a drink on Friday.
No, sorry Mom, but she had her chance,
You've got to draw the line somewhere.

Sorry to call,
But I thought you'd know,
You're so very good with those things,
That I had to tell you,
Because I knew you'd care,
And you wouldn't leave me hanging like the rest.

There was a time
When you might have been right,
I can't really say for sure.
But for now,
I've really changed,
And hanging, you say, hmmm...

Save the whales,
Or the Spotted Owl,
Or save some dessert for me.
John Lennon's really in Free Willie's gut,
Having tea with John Kennedy.

Could you give me a break?
I'm really tapped out,
But nobody seems to care.
I'm praying for Sunday
So I can get some rest,
But I'm afraid that it won't be enough,
When I finally get there.

It seems to me,
But you might disagree,
That it feels like everybody wants,
A little piece of me.
But before I lose face,
And become a disgrace,
I think I'll just have Richard Branson,
Fly me into space.
