Little Bitty Ditty

by Frank P Whyte — Read all 321 poems by Frank P Whyte

Heart of darkness,
Heart of light,
The joy of forgiveness,
Makes everything right.

The pressure is greater,
As time draws nigh,
To rid my soul,
Of the sins I despise.

I will help you,
If you'll only ask,
I'll carry your load,
And I'll watch your back.

Life, you know,
Is a lot like this verse,
It could be a whole lot better,
But it could also be worse.

So my heart of darkness,
Becomes a heart of light,
And the older I get,
The more that seems right.

The message isn't so little bitty. Very nice.
