Imagine A Chain Unbroken

Poem Artwork

Diminish not my worth,
Which is far unknown
To you,
And extol not my value,
Of which you may be aware.
Encourage always my struggle,
To understand,
And aid,
And to comfort when in need,
For I seek always
A moral accounting,
Which measures my success,
As my goal is indeed withstanding.

But those who choose to judge,
Do so mostly at their own heed;
Gleefully, at times,
And never with remorse,
That would place bearing
On their sordid opus.
For a righteous soul
Judges most purely;
So says the judge,
Who cannot see darkness descending.

You may take from me
All that I have,
But if you please,
Lend warning of your needs.
But if you carry surplus,
You too may relinquish it,
For those in need
May always be in need.
But of my increase,
I expect to share,
And therein define my worth,
Which is the ledger
That I will carry to my final accounting.

Oh what joy we would find,
If what we sought was wealth
That we might share;
Bringing smiles,
And satiety,
To those who are saddened and starving.
But such now,
Is not a dream
Widely hailed.
And so we diminish our worth,
One for all,
As the link is strengthened,
And all for one,
As the chain is broken.

An excellent write, Frank! Well done. Judge not that ye be not judged. Peace.

I agree, very insightful. I try not to 'throw stones' and realized long ago we all struggle with something. As humans, we could do far better in the compassion department.

Very insightful.
Evaluation is always mistaken for "judging". Evaluation of ideas and idology is how we put information into perspective to add it to our memory banks of knowledge.

Reads so smoothly...well done.
