Poem Artwork

Queen of the dawn I feel thee,
Rising on horizon's eastern shore.
Bring renewal again I implore thee,
To  all living as is your rhythm,
And to me at my very core.

Die not today, I beg of thee,
Anything which I hold dear.
Sustain life as it rises to greet thee,
From the darkness of cavernous recesses,
And giant Sequoia,
As  she draws near.

Look on to creation daily,
And do whatever thou must,
To sustain life as it unfolds before thee,
Even as olden tales,
Begin inevitably to rust.

We worship thee not any longer,
As perhaps in ancient day,
But to He who  gives thee notion,
Who places all of creation on display.

So in thy  refined purity,
Which can be permeated not by man,
Lies the truth of all eternity,
The long-promised divine plan.

Feel me,
And all others at my side,
As in the presence of He who sustains thee,
Vanishes destructive pride.
