I laid down on my back at night,
Staring at the darkened sky,
And I wondered quietly to myself,
If somewhere out there spaceships fly.
I have no real reason
To wonder why,
But I would like to see one,
Before I die.
Folks I know would be afraid,
If a spaceman landed,
And asked for lemonade.
Me, I’d like to take a trip,
To the end of the universe,
In his big spaceship.
Oh the wonders
That I would see,
Far beyond Tranquility.
I’d jump up and down
And scream with glee,
With my universal liberty.
I sincerely doubt
If they would suggest a duel,
For surely like us,
They’re short on fuel.
I’m relatively certain,
On this voyage they’ve been sent,
That they’d like nothing more,
Than making new friends.
We could sit on a mountain,
And have Twinkies and wine,
And tell tales of our worlds,
To pass the time.
And me, I’ll be sad,
When our time comes to an end,
And I have to say goodbye,
To my intergalactic friends.
But we’ll exchange addresses and numbers,
And that will be just fine,
And we’ll send cards and presents,
At Christmas time.
And I’ll be happy and free,
When I look to the sky,
And I’ll wait patiently,
For my space buddy to stop by.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
This is a great Universe, and one of many.
Good work. Enjoyed.
