Poem Artwork

I watched your family today,
At your passing.
And while your loss
Feels like such a tragedy,
I’m not sure that I have ever seen
Such love.
I felt it
Emanating from the room.
And while the eyes were tearful,
And bore the strain of sleepless nights,
There were also smiles,
From those who loved you.

It is a special man,
Who is attended by his family and friends,
When comes his time die;
Loved ones who count themselves fortunate,
For having had the opportunity,
To know you,
And to love you,
And to labor by your side.
Think not for a moment,
That memories of you will fade;
They cannot,
For you shaped them,
And helped them to become who they are.
You supported them when they needed you,
And laughed with them in better times,
But always,
You were there for them when they needed
you.

So travel on,
Dearest loved one and friend.
Find wonder in every morning,
And breathe deeply the air of new life.
Explore with curiosity
The universe that God has made for us,
While we can only imagine
The wonders that you will see.
Treasure these rewards,
And as always,
Live this new life to the fullest,
As we know that you will.
But in the quiet moments,
Of which there may be a few,
Take a break and think of us,
And we will think of you.

I could honestly take my pick of so many of your lines and tell you that they moved me because they really did but those are meaningful because I would hope that this is how it will be when my time comes. This is such a meaningful and touching write. You are greatly talented.
