Poem Artwork

Raise a tune, rising Lord of the Sun,
And sing out of your silent sojourn
To distant lands,
Beyond galaxy’s end.
Weave a marvelous tale,
That matches true fantasy,
Of life on the edge of the universe;
Wilderness beyond the stars.

So important have we become…
To ourselves, and they who knew us well,
In flight through darkened skies,
And cells beyond embryonic dream.
There are those who police our thoughts,
Riding the helix through Saturn’s rings,
No clear notion of what we become,
So far beyond ancestor’s imaginings.

Carry me, anointed steed,
To the land of mine remembrance,
But not for fabled trail
Through the stars of night.
I wish, though I shall not receive,
For it is not the trip of eternal lives,
But chance, kindred souls,
If you hear me,
 Once more to start again.
