Poem Artwork

Imagine for a moment,
If you might,
Noah,
Watching the network news at night.
Tucked between a partridge
And a loon,
Transfixed for an hour
On the network goons,
As they recount
A world in ruins,
Just as the raindrops begin to fall.

Subsequently…consider,
If you will,
How then this ancient man of God
Would feel,
When Katie Kouric
Takes her cue
And starts the reel,
And recants the condition of the planet.

Tonight, Ladies and Gentlemen,
We find the world at war,
With widespread pestilence,
And famine for sure.
The markets, worldwide,
Have taken a fall,
And Iran wants to turn Israel
Into a fireball.
There’s a shortage of oil,
And global warming,
Radical Islam
Is surely alarming.
Undersea life
Is dying on our reefs,
And there’s an ugly little spirochete
In the brain’s of our beef.
Salmonella is growing
In Mexican tomatoes,
And there is a worldwide shortage
Of Idaho potatoes.
Terrorists are entering
America at Niagara,
We’ll be right back,
After this message,
 From Viagra.

Disheartened was Noah,
By the news that he heard,
As he gazed over his collection,
Of mammals and birds.
He carefully considered
The importance of his mission,
As he tried to understand
The Good Lord’s vision.
But the truth for Noah
At eight hundred years old,
Was ...

While the news was silver,
The commercial message was gold.

Very concise social commentary and satire. Loved it.

Wonderfully imaginative and in a way perhaps true to form. Soon as the eletions are over the world havoc will disappear, but I wonder what we will be left with in the aftermath....

Be always safe,
Karen

The world is getting to be rotten to the core. High prices of corn, rice, and tomatoes and fruit, almost everything is going higher in price all the time, disgusting for a world that has plenty and is growing plenty to be greedy for profit for their ownselves. If everyone would think of others more, it would be better. It seems as if we are in the days of Noah all over again, but the bible propecy's that the end days will be like this, people lovers of themselves and not others.
