Have you ever heard of the lot
Of the praying mantis?
It angrily stretches out its claws
To impede the progress of a cart,
Unconscious of its inability
For such an unmanageable task,
But showing how much it thinks
Of its own superpower indeed.
So, what I am trying to tell you,
Be on your guard; be careful, man!
If you cherish a boastful confidence
In your own excellences
And place yourself in collision
With many others, you are likely
To incur the fate of the mantis. . .
