Keeping Tigers

Do you know how those Who keep tigers proceed? They don’t dare to supply them With living creatures Because of the rage, Which their killing of them, Will excite. They do not even dare To give them their food whole Because of the rage, Which their rending of it, Will excite. They watch till their hunger Is appeased, dealing with them From their knowledge Of their natural ferocity. Tigers are different from men, But they fawn on those Who feed them and do so In accord with their nature. When any of these, it turns so, Are killed by them, it’s because They’ve gone against that nature.

I wonder what these Tibetan monks feed their tigers? These tigers are their lives. They are kept inside the tigers temple, and form very good relationship with the monks who had raised them since birth. When the fierce tigers form good relationship with humans and not eating meat, that's what I would call "against their nature". These tigers are MOST tamed. They can walk beside the monks. They sometimes would put the tigers on their shoulders when they go into malls when shopping. The tigers are raised to be people-friendly. Animals can form very good relationship with animals. You have captured the nature of tigers beautifully. They are not meant to be captive, but meant to roam freely and kill to live.

I have seen a captive tiger being fed canned dog food� And it made me sick to see it.
