Wishing to have a map drawn,
The ruler of a certain country
Summoned the known masters
Of the ink and pencil who came
To undertake the royal challenge.
Having received instructions
And made their drawing bows,
They stood, licking their pencils
And preparing their inkpots.
Half their number, however,
Remained outside the main hall.
There was one who came late,
With an air of indifference,
And did not hurry forward.
When he had received the task
And made his bow set, he however
Did not keep standing, but proceeded
To the dark corner of the palace garden.
The ruler sent a manservant to see him,
And there he was, with his garment off,
Sitting cross-legged in a lotus position,
And nearly naked. At that the ruler said,
'He is the man; he is a true draughtsman.'
Love ya!
