Stillness and silence are helpful
To those who are tired;
Rubbing the corners of the eyes
Is helpful to still sleeping kids;
Rest serves to calm agitation
Of those who are overtasked.
But such things are the toiled
And troubled only all those who
Have resorted to them by force.
Those who are at ease and
Have not had such experience,
Do not even care to ask about them.
The spirit-like men have had
No experience of how it is
That the clever pragmatists
Keep the world in order, and so
They do not inquire about it.

That the men of authority
Keep their states in awe, and so
They do not inquire about it.
The men of authority have had
No experience of how it is
That the superior men keep their age
Beneath their thumbs, and so
They do not inquire about it.
The superior men have had
No experience of how it is
That the petty men keep themselves
In agreement with their times
That they should inquire about it.
