Call of Duty

Poem Artwork

The feeling of oppression

Leads us to giving up the fight,
 
Making us unable to resolve,
 
As if we are in a frozen box.
 
This is because we have
 
Too many conflicting and
 
'Urgent' items in mind
 
Appeared all at once.
 
 
It seems like everything
 

Has to be done, and it all

 

Has to be done right now.
 
And so the primal part
 

Of our brain kicks in, and

 

We begin to experience fear,
 

Panic, misgiving, . . or worse.

 

 
We may even experience
 
The feeling of depression and
 

Hopelessness. These emotions

 

Can pursue us in the forest
 
About to be eaten by beasts,
 

But they are absolutely not

 

An appropriate response
 
To our daily to-do-duty.
 
 
So, what shall we do?
 

Let us pray time and again,

 

But at that we have to know
 

That prayer is what everything

 

Is depended on Lord,
 
Then duty is what everything

Is depended on us, you and me.
