SPRING
This is my favourite time of year
And I’ll tell you why if you lend me an ear
Now is when the flowers shoot from the ground
And the trees regain their majesty
The grass turns a resilient lustrous green
Where grazing cows can be seen
Making our forest and meadows into a lush wonderland
The wilderness seems to come alive
And the bees come happily out of their hives
Yes everywhere is the sound of life for hard winter is over
There shall be no more struggle and strife
Nature it seems has been blessed with harmony and grace
It’s truly a wonderful place
There is a special something in the crisp, clean air
You want to jump and sing with flare
You’re glad to be alive; you feel brand new
Just don’t know how this could happen but its true
The weather is not too hot and not too cool; it’s comfortable and calm
I love this time of season; it’s wonderful and a little warm
It’s time to plant our gardens for our keep
So in the fall we may harvest what we reap

This verse is going to be about the sounds of spring
I think it’s a great thing
To hear the Blue Jays tune
Or Robin Redbreast strutting what he’ got and tweeting along
While looking for his worm
Or maybe even to hear the Starling sing
And these things so early in the mourn; their bound to greet the dawn
There is something that might even be better; I’m in an afternoon meadow
When suddenly all around I hear a peculiar buzzing sound
And much to my delight I see there are honey bees drifting with the breeze
They have come to gather honey from these sweet smelling flowers that are all around
They are the flowers friend for they are helping them to grow
And remain beautiful till fall

Now my eyes behold a peculiar thing
Something suspended without any strings
All I can see is its tiny body with sharply pointed beak
It’s the center of the flower that it seeks
It’s amidst some lilac bushes, and there it rapidly goes
It’s awfully fast on its toes
This thing is able to go from left to right or up and down in the blink of an eye
It’s more like a whirly bird than anything I’ve ever seen
When I catch a glimpse of this bird’s racing wings the mystery is solved
This thing is a humming Bird and of this there isn’t any doubt

I don’t know whether I should tell another verse, but I guess I will
For this one shall end with a little thrill
So to continue
I hear Old Woodsy Owl he’s a curious bird he perches in his tree all night
He hoots at the moon until dawns light
He has huge round yellow eyes that glow and fright
Now what is that ghastly noise?
Its woody wood pecker …
Boring through a tree
He’s making himself a nest
A place for him to rest
As you and I can see
Now I hear a great beastly rumbling roar
I think something is on the rampage?
There it is, it’s just entered our meadow
It’s a huge and immense Grizzly bear
By the look of things he’s angry and intense for he was woken from his nap
So this is where I quickly disappear out of the picture and over the fence
