I thought I had made it, then suddenly I stumbled
So much expectation and then it crumbled

Why did that happen, I mumbled

Life appears a series of ups and downs
We climb so high then come the frowns

Darn it, we say I was doing so well
But now it seems like so much hell

Why did that happen we mumble
Why must we always stumble

Then I saw a baby take it's first steps and stumble
With a look of surprise in it's eyes it rose up again

In spite of the previous tumble

Suddenly I felt so humble
I then understood in learning to triumph

We must expect to stumble

Perfection comes with trying
Not by quitting and crying

Many times in life we fumble
And yes, sometimes we stumble
