As in "The Dresser", this poem celebrates my (the man) infatuation and adulation I have for my wife (the woman). Here I enjoy her as a man should enjoy his mate in private. This comes from my book on poetry: "Acorns of Love and Wisdom, Poem for the Every Day Person".
THE SHOWER
With a squeak
That resounded
Through the bowels
Of the house
And a gush
The shower responded
To slender hands
Which adjusted chrome knobs
And I
Your admitted voyeur
Watched in awe
As you allowed me
To share the privacy
Of your bath
Man inspired rain
Sprinkled down
And soaked blond hair
To slim shoulders
Crystalline rivulets
Magnified your tan
As they snaked
Over the curvaceous
Delicacy
Of your body
I
Willing guest
To your shower
Blinked
In the spray
That misted my vision
So that with reverent attention
My privileged
Audience
Could continue
Then
Our kiss
Merged with the
Sweetness
Of fresh droplets
And we became
Lost
In this waterfall
With each other
In the predawn hours during a solitary ride on her ranch, Montana Freeborn collides with Seth Phoenix, centaur-turned-man and the embodiment of her psychic visions.
