Sweet Red Rose is about an ex-girlfriend, who was around the wrong people, had the wrong lifestyle and putting her friends before her relationship. We were together for two years and life was pointless with her, so that's how i was inspired to write this poem.
Sweet Red Rose, you grew in secrecy
Do you have the gift of prophecy?
This is not the right time or the place
Heavy storms is what you've got to face
You hope and dream of sunny weather
Not knowing we can't be together.
Sweet red rose, you've turned black
No rainfall to bring you back
Sweet red rose, your roots have died
Enjoyment gone, life denied
Sweet red rose, you burnt away
Cannot avoid Judgement Day.
Do not worry, you see thorns as friends
Treating everyday like the weekends
Thorns are sharp and you don't understand
Well petal, mud may turn to quicksand
Only if you could see this nightmare
I've tried to warn you but you don't care.
Sweet red rose, you've turned black

Remember the days that you smelt nice?
We went together like herbs and spice
Before things changed our love was quite strong
You tell me, 'Where did it all go wrong?'
It started when you planted your roots
Pulled back the trigger, the red rose shoots
You took the sunlight from everyone
You will be lost when we are all gone.
