Our Time

Our time will come.
And it will be just you and me
In an invincible box,
Invincible because it is our own secret place
Where no one could ever find us in time.
And for us, time has stopped.
We approach each other,
And every moment before this has only been
A cleansing ritual to prepare us for now.
Terry cloth robes open, arms reach
And I feel your lower back,
The soft silky skin you have prepared
Just for me.
You take my face in your hands,
A slight stubble left to address certain itches
We will discover later, even if I create them.
But for now, I’m just in your hands,
And you draw me in.
Lips lock, and we will forever live in this moment-
Two human beings sealed by a kiss.
Tongues extend to taste our lover’s very being
On levels evolved over eons of time.
A million lives are shared in the process
Of two becoming one.
So slow, so slow, finding our warm wet home.
In this silent stillness I know my heart is a pump,
And I know what it is for.
But I will not fill you until you are completely empty.
There are deeper ways to breathe that can be taught,
And you won’t have room for what I have to give
Until I’ve taken more from you than you can imagine,
But only to give it all back brand new-
Bearing my signature.
Remember to breathe, and don’t fear being taken
Because I promise to bring you back,
And lay you gently in a dream come true .

Is this your soul speaking John? You are really wrapped up inside this invisible box. A beautifully controlled poem. It is the invisibility that stretches the imagination. You are on one long journey together. Bill
