The Day

I'm thinking of the day, the day my dream comes true ,
For all my life has only been to pave the way for you.
So standing in a faceless crowd, my mind in such a haze,
Pure energy engulfs my heart until I meet your gaze.

I look in to your eyes; you look back in to mine,
And nothing else will matter as the world will see us shine,
Defining what the dream of love has always been about,
The ecstasy of you and me beyond the reach of doubt.

We speak each other's names; we close our eyes and hear,
I place my hand upon your cheek, your neck, your hair, your ear,
We fall in to a warm embrace and breathe each other's soul,
It's never been like this before, now both of us are whole.

I gently take your hand; you hold it tight in yours,
My soul at last connected to the one that it adores,
We give each other little slaps, then hugs, and then a kiss
That will not stop until a cop says, "That's enough of this."

We have to find the car out somewhere in the lot,
To take us to the future, it's already getting hot.
How long that we have waited for this chance to finally meet,
And all of it was worth it, first let's grab a bite to eat.

The time at last arrives, I carry you inside.
The place where we will find the love we've always been denied.
Each vision viewed through happy tears that soothe once heavy hearts,
Already been the best of dreams, but this is where it starts.

You head in to the tub, a process we will share.
I will not miss a single spot, a single pore or hair,
We're cleansed of all the sorrow that has ever touched our past,
And free to take in everything we've wanted to at last.

It's time my precious love, we climb in to our bed,
And live the words of poetry that both of us have said.
The dream had kept us going, and the wishes we fulfill
Will prove to us our dream will keep us going ever still.
