Wishing

I wished for you on Betelgeuse, the biggest star we’ll see-
For this would be the biggest wish there’s ever going to be,
And as I wished the other stars all listened to me too
And joined in helping Betelgeuse to make this wish come true .

So now the stars are shining like they never have before,
For this man has a heart of gold, and you they all adore-
And you wished on Arcturus but you didn’t even know
The stars would fall in love with you and that is why they glow.

So look at them all shining in an effervescent sky
And do believe in miracles, we ARE the reason why.
Our love was never wasted, every wish we ever made
Was given to the stars so they could shine on our parade.

I spent such time in wishing, all my dreams and every prayer-
For this, I sit here mesmerized and can’t believe you’re there.
I’ll learn them all by name so I can thank each single star,
And if you ever wonder if they’re listening-they are.
