Fate
Who faints first? We both would wonder-
Funny- all the stress we’re under.
Here we go, another day-
All this time- one tank away.
All gassed up and out the door-
Starts right up, can’t ask for more-
Asking, begging, pleading, prayer-
Can’t believe I’m going there.
Interstate, the bridges, tolls-
Playing out our soul mate roles-
Watch the clock, just passing time-
Soon the walls you start to climb.
First two hours, I’m half way done-
How can you not be the one?
Stop the presses, calm the mind-
Pray to God this day is kind.
Almost there, my hands are shaking-
You believe the earth is quaking-
Yet- we really never doubt
This is what it’s all about.
All the years, this crazy life-
How’d you like to be my wife?
Warriors in love- my sweet-
This is it- the day we meet.
Check the map just once or twice,
Memorized it- I’m so nice-
So in love I’ve got to die-
Maybe you can tell me why.
Sorry dear, you’re breathing, pacing-
Talk about a heart that’s racing…
Just remember- love so far-
Brought us to this place we are.
Stopped beside our meeting place-
Full of prayer, we’re saying grace-
Love for us has been a feast-
Now, can we release the beast?
Stop the car and close the door
Standing there as by the shore.
One vast ocean yet to be-
Wonder what she’ll think of me.
As we knew it- smiles and tears-
What’d I tell you- no more fears-
Holding fast- and you must know,
I will never let you go.

What’d I tell you- no more fears-
Holding fast- and you must know,
I will never let you go.
Yes, John! Thoroughly engaging stuff to which I can relate. Thank you. Love and peace to you,
Regis
You take us on this trek into uncharted territory and it feels so real, a mixture of spiritual vision and reality.
What a great poetic rush!
Ever,
Christine
